Easy Christmas makeup tutorial is a must as every girl or woman knows that December is full of parties, meetings with friends, family and colleagues. Makeup always glamorizes, boosts self-confidence, and improves mood if it’s done well, so it is important to do it neat and beautiful. It is not always possible to do makeup with a professional makeup artist. This is why we are sharing our holiday makeup guide, how to look flawless and charming during the holiday season with your own makeup at home.

Every woman has her own favorite colors and style, so we’ll share as many tips and ideas as possible on the techniques and tools to use, to make sure everyone finds something useful for themselves.

Face cleaning

Face skin cleaning should be the first step in your makeup routine. Cleansing your face will give you a bright, glowing complexion. It is not possible to make smooth and beautiful makeup when your face is not clean. Don’t forget the neck and décolleté. You can use your favorite mineral water, rose hydrolat, or any other flower water, micellar water or tonic.

Prepare your neck, arms, legs and back

What to do to make your décolleté look beautifully? You can use Vita Liberata Body Blur. This is the best product discovered by our makeup artist, called body powder. Adjust suitable shades to your neck and décolleté, but not to your face. Use brush to cover your neck to the bottom of your chin, the décolleté and all body areas you want except the face. If you want more intense color – apply more product, and if you just want a subtle glow to your skin, apply less. You can always use this tip for your face, arms, back, or legs.
Gently apply the most prominent areas of the clavicle with the highlighter. This will give a natural glow.

Prepare your face for Makeup

Before each makeup, spray makeup fix on the face. You can use Make up For Ever „Mix and Fix” 28 $, or other favorite makeup fixer. It strengthens the lower layers of makeup and helps your makeup last longer. If you know that you will not have time to fix your make-up during the day, this is a good way to ensure that your make-up lasts all day long.

Makeup base

Many people notice that one part of their face shines and the other may stay dry. That’s why makeup bases are created. Choose a make-up primer that stops shine, creates a matte finish but doesn’t dry out the skin. Cover your T zone and areas with more pores with a pore-minimizing primer. We suggest applying this product with your fingers.

Foundation

Now is the time to cover your face with foundation. It should be as light weight as possible. That will make your face look younger and brighter. If you want to hide something, you can always cover one pimple with your concealer. Our favorite foundations are: Clarins – Silk Illusion, By Terry – Hyaluronic Hydra – Foundation, Giorgio Armani – Luminous Silk Foundation.

For better coverage

If you have scars and lighter foundation doesn’t cover them, use foundations with more coverage or good concealers. Our favorite concealers are: MAC Prolongwear concealer 28$, Tarte Shape tape 29$. Women often complain that their face hair looks visible. That happens when we apply the foundation in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Stronger coverage foundations: Make up for Ever – Matte Velvet Foundation, La Prairie – Skin Caviar Foundation, Bourjois – Healthy Mix, and for summer time, if you have oily skin and you need full coverage, try waterproof Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place foundation.

We use this product with almost all foundations and it is a primer: Vita Liberata Beauty Blur (choose your shade). Wear this primer instead of foundation, if you want „No-Make-up – Make-up”, or you can add a few drops to your favorite foundation to make your skin look lighter and more radiant. Cover your face with foundation, except the eye area. We use Jane Irendale blending brush 40$. Hold the brush at the end of the handle so that your fingers move, not your hand.

When you cover the forehead area, start from the middle. Not from your hair, but from the middle of your face. The direction is not important, the most important thing is not to start with the hair, so you won’t smear it. When there is little foundation left on the brush, transitions to the neck, ear area, and hair are very important. You don’t want to have a mask effect. Cover the area of the nostrils in a circular motion, get product into the pores.

Tip: When you are choosing your foundation shade and having a hard time choosing between two, always go for the lighter one. The lighter your skin is, the younger and brighter you will look.

Concealer

After you finish with the foundation, it is time to begin contouring your face. Start with bright areas: the cupid’s bow, chin, middle forehead, nose stripes and under the eyes. We like Mac Pro Longwear or Tarte – Shape tape. Apply with a smaller brush. Apply a bit of concealer over your lip – on the cupid’s bow, chin, in the middle of the forehead, and spread it. Then take your Beauty Blender and blend out. There is nothing better than the original and real Beauty Blender.

Now let’s move to the eyes. Apply the concealer using a brush. Start from the eye area, the inner corner of your eye, move down by the side of your nose, turn behind the nostril, and move to the outer corner of the eye in a straight line towards the hair. In other words, we make a triangle from the inner eye corner to the nostrils and to the outer eye corner, creating a straight line towards the hair. Blend out everything with a Beauty Blender. Each form has its ending. One end in this area is twisting behind the nostrils. The concealer area includes the entire side of the nose. Smooth out everything with Beauty Blender.

Setting up

Loose powder will give you more mattifying and longer-lasting make-up. We like Laura Mercier Setting powder $39, Hourglass Veil Translucent setting powder 46$, Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre 52$ or By Terry Hyaluronic Loose powder 60$. Before you start to apply a dry product, it is very important to smooth out the wrinkles under the eyes and eyelid area. And wrinkles are going to be there, no matter if it’s the skin of a child or a mature woman. All wet products run into the wrinkles, because it is not fixed. It’s not because of a bad concealer, it’s because of a bad fix.

Smooth out the areas that have run into the wrinkles with your fingers and then use the brush very gentle, to fix it with loose powder. Make gentle tapping motions. Cover the entire face. We recommend – Make Up For Ever Large Powder brush Nr. 130. Areas you haven’t fixed are more likely to shine or wrinkle.

Contouring

Take pressed bronzer powder. Start from the top of your ear, the highest area of the cheek and try to soften the color when going down. When we talk about face contouring color, the test is very simple. Just look in the mirror and see what color is the area under your lip. Here is your natural contour and you should try to make the same in other face areas. Half of the ear is the starting point from which you can start shaping the cheek. Remember to enter the ear, if you leave a light skin color on the ear, you will show up that contouring has been done. Start at the top of your ear to the corner of your lips.

The lower contour must be tight, the upper as dispersed as possible. Make your jaw line visible. If you want to shred your face, darken it a bit above the jaw line as well. Darken the dewlap area as well. Contour your forehead to the line of hair growth. Enter the hair. Use a small brush and make a small shadow under the lower lip and just above the cupid’s bow. This will make your lips look plumper. You can shorten the bottom of your nose making it darker. Do not darken the entire side of your nose, form two smooth, narrow stripes at the top of the nose all the way to the eyebrow.

Blush

Apply blush above your bronzer contour. It’s three stairs: bronzer zone, blush zone, and highlighter zone. All three areas merge with each other. Blush is like a transition from dark to light and adds chastity to the face.
When face shaping is completed, we can finish with Charlotte Tilbury compact powder. Do this with a very gentle brush. Our favorite is Make up for Ever Large powder brush No.130. A rougher brush can ruin everything. When coating compact powder, we have a guarantee that everything is covered and smoothness is added.

Brows

Comb your eyebrows with the eyebrow gel. This way we comb and stick it together. After that use eyebrow pencils. You can use a special thin pencil and draw the missing hair, add shape and color where they are missing. The lower eyebrow contour should be tighter and the upper should not be so smooth, that your eyebrows look more natural.

The darkest part of the eyebrow should be the breaking point and the beginning should be as neutral as possible. By using nude or your skin tone color pencil you can smooth out all mistakes very quickly and easily. Defining this pencil on the bottom of the eyebrows will make them look more perfect. This is the easiest and fastest way to smooth out the shape of your eyebrows.

Eyes

Take a white shadow and cover the corners of your eye near your nose. When you paint your eyes, guide by a mirror effect: everything you do at the top must be repeated at the bottom. Cover the eye lid with ivory color. Deepen your eyes with a brick-colored shadow above your eye lid. If the eyelid is covered, place the shadow on the fall, do not open the skin of the fallen eyelid, do it directly on it with your eyes open.

Apply glowing shadow in the inner corner of the eye and in the middle of the eyelid. Repeat everything at the bottom along the lash growth line to the middle of the eye.
We draw with eyeliner or black/brown pencil. Depending on what eye brightness we want to extract. For your final touch – apply the mascara. If you want, you can stick false lashes.

Lips

When it comes to lip plumpness, the first thing you need to do is to create a lip contour. Draw a contour line with pencil. The softer and lighter in color the contour, the plumper your lips will look. If you want to puff your lips use two pencils: a light and a darker shade. Draw whole lips with a lighter pencil. Paint your lower lip according to its natural shape, and you can draw your upper lip a bit above the contour. A lighter pencil is like a base, for a second darker pencil. With a darker color we form the corners and thin, subtle contour line of the lips.

First, we form the cupid’s bow, then the angles. We shape the contour of the upper lip a bit above the lip. If we made a mistake, we can always correct it with the same nude shade pencil which you used for the eyebrows. Apply lipstick through the central part of the lips and a dab of lip gloss.

Highlighter

It’s now the highlighter’s turn. We place it on all areas we want to see the most – the best place above the cheek, on the forehead above the eyebrows, above the lip, on the tip of your nose and chin. Keep in mind, that when you apply the highlighter, it would be wise to apply it in daylight, this way you can see what it looks like, so you do not overdo it.

Natural beauty signs

If you have beloved moles, you can draw them with a pencil.
Fix your makeup with moisturizing and lightening Jane Irredale Hydrating Mist.

Don’t forget to admire and compliment yourself. Now you’re ready for the most beautiful holidays season. May your holidays be filled with joy and laughter. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my easy christmas makeup tutorial.
